2025年9月1日（月），インドネシア，スラカルタ（ソロシティ）で開催されたアジア交通学会（Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies, EASTS）の第16回国際大会で大学院土木工学専攻M2（博士前期課程2年生）下村凜太郎さん（泊研）が研究発表を行いました（Shimomura, R., Tomari, N. & Inamura, H., A Study of Economic Activities in the Small and Medium-sized Cities with HSR Local Stations）．発表内容は下村さんが大学院入学から議論を重ねてきた内容を報告したものです．会場ではポスター発表に臨み，参加した各国の専門家や学生らと議論を行いました．
以下は発表を終えた下村凜太郎さんのコメントです．

I had the opportunity to participate in an international academic conference for the first time. I was excited about having discussions with people from overseas, although I also felt some concern about the language barrier. Once the conference began, however, I was pleased to find that I could engage in meaningful discussions with many participants without much difficulty.
The theme of the conference was “Harnessing Local Wisdom and Green Technologies for a Sustainable Future in Eastern Asia’s Transport Sector.” I enjoyed attending a wide range of interesting presentations on transportation issues and research from different countries. I gave a poster presentation on the regional economic impacts of high-speed rail, and I had the chance to exchange ideas with many participants who showed particular interest in Japan’s experience.
Through these discussions, I discovered valuable insights that will help me improve my research. I was also very honored when several participants told me they look forward to my future work. This experience has given me great motivation to continue developing my research.
